Top 12 Leadership Books

We’re introducing Brief Whispers – short discovery secrets we want to share with our community frequently seen here at The Culture Whisperer from great leadership book recommendations, quotes that have influence and impact, the occasional diatribe on football, golf, #WineWednesday and spirits – and, no I don’t mean spirits that go “boo” in the night – the good stuff you’ll find traveling up or down I-65.

Today’s addition is an homage to Bob Sutton. He is Professor of Management Science at the Stanford Engineering School and researcher in the field of Evidence-based management. He’s written dozens of books  and he recently offered up his Top 12 Leadership Books every leader should pour through.

NAR imageBob wrote The No Asshole Rule: Building a Civilized Workplace and Surviving One That Isn’t. It’s a good read from identifying the type to dealing with them to what one should do if they believe they are an asshole to why it may be beneficial to keep one or two around.

Another good read I enjoyed from the beach was Smarter, Faster, Better – Charles Duhigg. An exploration into the science of productivity – anyone can learn to succeed with less stress and struggle, and to get more done without sacrificing what we care about most.

Thanks for discovering our Brief Whispers and we look forward to connecting with you here at #TheCultureWhisperer.
